Assuming you're referring to a motorhome (as opposed to a trailer) to get more accurate answers, you need to clarify whether you mean the chassis battery (the one that's used to start the engine) or the coach battery (the one that runs the lights, water pump, etc) of the RV.
What year and model is the RV ? In some, the shore power only charges the coach battery, and in others it charges both the chassis and coach batteries.
