The radio's power comes from the coach batteries with use switch in the "on" position, or in use.
The camera uses the radio's display screen.
Usually the first switch on the left, when turned on, you will hear a clunk, or clack noise from the fuse/breaker panel area.
It has 2 choices: Use, or Store, (connect, or disconnect coach batteries).

I believe, when plugged in, the converter automatically engages, supplying the 12vac, which radio needs.
When unplugged, converter turns off as it needs 120vac to create the 12vdc.
Thus, you need to engage the coach battery supply of 12vdc, via the use switch.

You also need the use switch in the on position, while plugged into shore power, to allow coach battery charging via the converter.
Chassis (engine) battery is a separate system.

Try that, let us know.
