You may very well be correct. Since I just opened negotiations I'll see where the start is. I may end up selling it myself. However, here in Arkansas we pay quote a sales tax on automotive purchases. But we only pay the tax on the trade difference. That means I would have to get that difference + any costs associated with selling + any time value spent in getting the deal closed.

So...if I buy a rig for $100k that's what I pay tax on. If my trade is valued at $60k I pay tax on $40k. In that example I would need to get a minimum of $5k more than the true trade value. Not that this isn't possible, but how much time and hassle would it take to achieve that difference?
