With the thin luan panels that Thor uses, the toothpick trick may not work all that well. I’ve ended up just using the plastic wall anchors which seem to hold well enough for light duty stuff. For heavier duty I think you need to use the spring toggle type anchors that grab the back of the wall. Kind of overkill for a switch, but you don’t have much meat to work with.
