For what exactly? To allow you to carry more stuff, or for you to have more space for yourself? Open space filled with just air can be a great feature for many of us.

It’s obviously very subjective because they are competing interests, but I don’t like it when designers cram more stuff into an RV at the expense of space to move around. I’m more important than my material stuff, which I can leave at home.

European designers seem much more aware of this. Given any size unit, they appear to provide more space for humans by reducing content.
