The batteries are 12 volt deep cycle. The refrigerator runs on 120 volt or propane. I do not run it on 120 volt when boondocking.
The solar cables do run through the refrigerator vent to the controller, but it is such a short run I don't think they get exposed to enough heat to cause any damage. I think they would get more heat and possible damage being exposed outside on the roof.
