Hi, well a new and exciting problem. Gen and hydraulics are usually DC powered from coach batteries through a 100 amp resettable breaker fed off the battery string, so use/store switch is likely not involved, but I don’t know your coach specifics either. Normally the gen MCU controller has a ground wired out to the local and remote start/stop switch. Sounds like you only have a remote gen panel on/off issue since the trouble stops when the remote harness is disconnected from the gen. When the gen is not running, pressing the stop switch connects the controller wired ground back to the controller stop pin which starts the fuel pump prime function. When the gen is running, one press and release of the stop button will stop the gen using exactly the same wires.....the controller is the brains (running or stopped). So the question is where is the ground coming from on the controller “stop” pin when the gen is actually stopped and you hit 70F or below? The other “wonder” from my little brain is when the gen is running and you hit 70F or below does the gen automatically shut off? Is the 70F ambient or below have to be at the remote or at the gen end?
My first WAG is check the remote gen panel switch (disconnect the center ground wire being careful not to short it to anything and see if the problem repeats at 70F or below). If it repeats then the ground to the controller stop terminal is coming from somewhere else (chafing somewhere the harness got pulled through maybe?). Nothing like a good head scratcher to keep the grey matter moving and the blood pressure high (if you are the owner).
