The price of a 12v tV is ridiculous, My main thinking was save battery usage:

Most 120v/AC TV's have built in adapters as they run on low voltage DC power
The DVD player could also eliminate it 120 A/c to 12V d/c adapter, and also eliminate the need for an inverter.

It just seems odd that in an RV you take a low voltage D/C power supply (12v batteries) and invert them to 120 A/c and then use transformers to change the the power back to low voltage D/C. Not sure how much battery power is lost in this complete process.
Anyway it all comes down to cost, and 120v A/C TV's are more affordable then the 12v D/C version, and most rvers use campgrounds for power.
