The issue isn't the door falling down and hitting your arm (hint the hinge is at the bottom, not the top). The issue is the small area.
So far we haven't had such an issue. Our valves and outlet have loosened up over time (the outlet rotates if you haven't figured that out already).
You could always install a
Flexible cable kit (Amazon)--not sure where you'd route the cables to; perhaps the black tank hatch or the propane door (looks like the cable is 6' long would have to measure..).
Electric valves are always an option too.
