Ok, so, you got my type "a" personality working.
I had to do some research on IR repeaters.

You can run this one off of the USB port that is probably on the back of the TV.
This would be a lot easier than the first one I mentioned. It looks like TVs and IR repeaters have come a long way in the 10 years since I put mine in.
