This indeed is a cheap one from said store! It worked flawlessly on the Subie and apparently on the Chevy as well. I'm going to see about the contacts in the morning but I'm inclined to believe it's an impedence problem, as Jamie mentioned. Moving the adapter around, pushing and pulling on it, I never got so much as a flicker of light. I would just buy a different set of lights but I can't find anything that uses the 7 pin connector! They're all on the four pin.
