Mystery of the Extra Yellow Wire

I have a 25v class C Chateau. It appears that since delivery the alternator has not been charging the house batteries. This caused them to fail and have to be replaced (dead cell). Here is the question. When I replaced the batteries I found a yellow wire (low voltage) that was in the battery box but never attached to any terminal. When I look at the trombetta, I see a yellow wire attached to the right low voltage terminal. Could this be the reason the power is not being routed to the house batteries? There are no other yellow wires in the battery box.

The house batteries charge fine with shore power or generator. The engine alternator is putting our 14.2 volts so there is power available. Also I do not hear a click when I switch the batteries off with the use/store switch.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Trouble shooting tips?

Thank you
