Tip- yes don’t buy a new one. However, if you must, search this forum for the challenger thread, read up on the problems and modifications and become familiar with the unit. Most of the time you know what to ask but some of the time, you don’t know what you don’t know. You are buying two vehicles: the chassis and the motorhome structure. Both come with challenges although the chassis is probably more reliable. Consider all the systems that make up the unit and thoroughly check out the systems under operating conditions (under loads so to speak). Simple things like the hot water and cold water operated on the correct side and can operate from the propane and electric. Do all the TVs operate from the cable or satellite or are they separated. There is much more to say. Best recommendation is to create an exhaustive checkout procedure and walk through it until your are satisfied.
