I went from four 6-volt batteries to 3 12-volt batteries on a diesel pusher. The reason is that I didn't get much life out of the six-volt batteries. Recently on our Windsport, I replaced the two 12-volt flooded lead-acid batteries with two 12-volt AGM batteries. They weren't cheap but they have been providing excellent service and don't need to be checked for electrolyte. No more non-maintenance batteries for me and I will use AGMs whenever possible.
