Ours took about a year and a half of ownership. Perhaps the flexing of the shower pan and vibration causes it to loosen up. I guess one could try some medium duty locktite on the joint to keep it from happening again. I just know that one day I noticed soapy water leaking from the outer wall next to the shower. Yep, the shower drain was loose.
