Yep... but others following and perhaps planning a visit to Florida might be interested...
Florida has TWO systems...
EPass is the Central Florida Expressway authority - and
Sunpass which covers everything else (Turnpike, and other roads...)
These two systems fully interoperate with each other - either one can be used on all toll roads in Florida - including parking at major airports.
They differ on interoperability with OTHER systems...
Epass locations (central Florida Expressway) began accepting EZPass earlier this year... But only the new EPass Extra transponders are accepted by EZPass locations - appears to be only a 'movable' transponder at about $20.
Sunpass does not honor EZPass today - nor does EZPass honor Sunpass.
Sunpass offers a moveable transponder (about $20 I think) or permanent sticker ($5 each)
There was a federal law that all systems were supposed to interoperate by some magical date... Texas and Oklahoma are the other two I am aware of that are still out on their own...
(Many interstates and other roads are 'no toll' in Florida... So often nothing is needed.)
