I have looked at the motor replacement video and it looks fairly easy to do and you might be right by doing it first and not understanding the process in the field. I was just concerned if one did go bad could my wife help me push the slide back in.

Another good reason to try it before hand. Mine was not a full wall slide but I was very surprised how easy it was to push in. I did it myself while my wife sat inside and read a book! But, of course you are right that there is no downside to having a spare on hand.
