These 12VDC compressors have been around for many decades, but as far as I know were limited in size to small refrigerators and freezers like the ones commonly used in van campers. One brand that has a great reputation is Danfoss, so I’d have no problem with one of those. Some new compressor designs I’d hesitate buying.
