I couldn't believe they didn't come with that either... Caught myself several times at rest areas leaving the lights on - fortunately not for long periods...
I added a very inexpensive solution - literally just a piezo buzzer... one side connected to ignition power source (any point getting 12v only when ignition is on) and the other to source powered when lights are on.
The piezo buzzer works like a diode - one way current flow...
12v from ignition on one side does nothing...
12v from ignition on one side and lights on other does nothing...
12v from lights only lets current flow thru the buzzer - and makes noise...
(if it sounds with ignition on only - just reverse the wires... no harm done)
I originally hooked mine up to the lighted heated mirror switch below the drivers window. The switch gets ignition power to use for the heated mirrors - and light power lights the switch when parking/headlights are on.
(of course the volume of the buzzer then depends on the intensity of the dash lights... a bug? or a feature? lol...)
Added to my 1970 Dodge manyyyyy years ago. Same thing still works today...
