On the 25.2 and the 25.3, the folded bed can not be useful to sit or lie on. The bed must be folded for the slide to retract. I had thought about turning the mattress around, but the part that flips over is thicker, so that idea didn't work. We have had no problem in extending the slide for quick overnight stops, even with our car attached.
