Hello back from KY. Advise is to look, look and look some more. As you look make a list of things that you like. Then make a list of "got to haves", "nice to haves", "not needed".
Get to know each of manufacturers with "C"s. Go to their websites, go touch them at various dealers and get smart about things like appliances, storage arrangements, inverters, battery banks, etc. Then head to manufacturer specific forums (like Thor, Forest River, Jayco, etc) and then go to the various general forums IRV2, Good Sams, etc.
Ask questions. Look up models on RVTrader, RVT and others for price points. It won't be long before you figure out that you know more than the sales person selling to you.
PS: the folks at Tom Stinnet are nice enough but not a large motorhome dealer. There are others but service in our area is rather spotty. We bought from Paul Sherry in Piqua, OH. Service was honest and straightforward.
