Noticed aluminum coping on my 2014 Vegas pulling away from the body, and pulling the fenders with them. I checked underneath, and found 3 non-galvanized sheet metal screw snapped off. Only three 1 inch screw hold the entire 6 foot long trim assembly to the coach. Just amazing. How the morons who designed this coach would expect this arrangement to last is beyond belief. This metal trim could have easily fallen off on the highway, caused a tire blowout or damage to the coach or other cars.
I drilled 6 pilot holes and installed galvy self-tapping screws to secure the trim piece and fenders. I also needed to re-fasten the entry-step plastic trim piece with stainless screws as that was falling off as well. Be sure to check all these fasteners and replace with stainless steel. I am sure Thor saved about $2.00 per coach using cheap Chinese screws instead of stainless.
