You may also want to try Rain-X. I have used it for years with very good results.
Follow the directions and don't apply in the hot sun. For the best results do one coat and then the next day with the windshield still clean, do another application, just make sure you get it all buffed off.
I can pass large trucks on the interstate in a driving rain and never be in a position of not being able to see.
