Do you know if the batteries were being charged while you were camping?

If you were weekend camping the batteries could have been charged while traveling and lasted until they were charged again while traveling home.

Can you check the converter output voltage and the battery voltage while being plugged in? The converter voltage should be between 13+ and 14+ depending on your converter. The battery voltage should be pretty much the same.
