KISS. You don't need a service for 12. Enough dishes, glasses and coffee cups fit in plastic containers in the cabinet above the sink for us - along with the paper plates that we use most often. After every trip we take off the things we did not use. You'll be surprised how empty that can make some shelves. We try to take as little breakable stuff as possible.
