JollyRoger have you considered getting the shorter replacement base mentioned in a previous post?
RV Swivel Seat Bases,Chevy,GM,Dodge,Ford RV front seat bases
Using a cushion seems potentially dangerous to me if it were to slip out of place and prohibit access to the brakes or accelerator.
Have you experienced this?
