I would also say that I have had good luck with both Google Maps and Mapquest app on my cell phone. I prefer Mapquest on my phone, since it has the capability of showing which lane I need to be in in order to exit a highway.

I am considering a Garmin GPS only because I would like a bigger display screen. I haven't yet looked into using Google Maps or Maquest on an Android tablet, so maybe others can weigh in on that.
