Carpentry Badge

Today I got my carpentry badge. The window valence on the drivers side in the rear popout came out of the wall. I paid someone good money to fix it. Unfortunately, they just used a piece of paper to hold the screw in the wall, Eventually (Bainbridge Island to Moses Lake) it popped out.

Today I went to the hardware stor to buy a dry wall molly to fix the issue. While installing that one, I had to pull the valence off the wall enough to hammer the molly into the wall. And, of course, that pulled the other side out of the wall (grr). All in all it's a pretty cheap setup. Self tapping wood screws holding the valence to the wall which is thin pressboard.

I now have two L-brackets securely holding tjhe valence with the shade into the wall.

I'll be at the local Elks Lodge this afternoon, relaying my wild adventure.
