LOL! Well to be fair many people from the Lower Peninsula can't pronounce pastie either (granted I'm in the Detroit area as well but have visited the UP many times and have family up there).
That really is the hidden gem of Michigan: If you get the chance don't pass up a visit to the Upper Peninsula.
