Our usage pattern is a little different: Since I'm still working and being in Michigan our unit sits for 6 months covered up. Thus my oil change interval is based on time vs miles: Both the engine and the genny get an oil change just prior to putting it away for the winter (thus there is one less thing to do in the spring and it sits all winter with fresh oil in it).
So the # of miles on it will vary based on how far we took it that season but typically it will be between 3000 and 5000 miles (Usually take one long trip over the summer that will be close to 2000 miles by itself).
