I have a device from my carrier that plugs into the port which provides a wifi hot spot for the unit and also provides some diagnostic and other feedback type information for the actual vehicle and its performance. I think some insurance carriers offer discounts if they know you have it because they can track driving habits but not 100% sure about that. Progressive use to offer up to 30% discount if you plug their device into your vehicle port for 30 days so they know what type of driver you are. So essentially, kinda something like that.
