That's excellent fuel economy for a coach that size by any standard.

Smaller American Class As or Cs on the Sprinter chassis with 3.0-liter turbodiesel and 5-speed auto are often reported in 16 to 17 MPG range, so I'd guess your friend is not exaggerating; yet it's twice what I got on my 24-foot Class C with Ford V10.

I just saw this morning that in Europe they have slightly smaller As and Cs for 2018 model year that should easily do 20 MPG if driven conservatively. Compared to an American Reyo Sprinter diesel Class A they are a little narrower, lower, lighter, and are powered by 2.3-liter turbodiesel with 6-speed automated manual.
