V-10 Oil Change Simple

From start to finish the oil change took just under an hour. Previous owner had a petcock installed on oil pan so that sped things up.

Spent $1.35 at Lowes for a clear piece of tubing 2.5' long that slid on the petcock and then down into a milk jug (used two jugs). While that was draining I placed a freezer bag around the oil filter, which hangs vertical instead of horizontal, and removed it. Only had a few drips here that got away from me. Once done underneath scooted out and dumped my 7 quarts in. Ran engine, checked for leaks, waited 10 minutes, oil level good, closed her up.

I will be due for another oil/filter change when our summer travels are over so I will grease some fittings while doing that one.

So for less than $70 the oil/filter can be changed and it gives you the opportunity to look some things over under there, which some truck or RV place won't be checking out.
