You MUST travel with the safety pins and very little weight in the front bed. To remove the pins, raise the bed to the full up position and hold the switch in for five seconds after the bed stops moving. Now remove the pins. Lower the bed fully not stopping at any other position and hold the switch in for five seconds after the bed has stopped moving. Holding the bed and slide switch in after the bed or slides has stopped moving synchronizes the two electric motors. If the bed is out of sync, try to raise the bed fully while pushing up on the lower corner forcefully. Because of the cable arrangement in the front of the bed this will usually correct the bed. Be sure to raise the bed fully and hold the switch in to allow the motors to synchronize. With the pins installed I lower the bed about 1" to lock the pins into position, but this step is not in the operating instructions
After using the bed, be sure the pins are in before traveling. The slides and bed are electrically isolated when the engine ignition is on, but they both can move on very rough roads and the motor brakes are not as strong as we would like.
