Good news guys, called Thor this morning and spoke with the Customer Service Rep. He informed me that there is an access cap, for emergency maintenance, on the aft end of the awning. The access cap is about 2 inches in diameter and is actually on the FORWARD end of the awning assembly. Once the access cap is removed all you need is a 3/8 inch square stock (3/8 inch extension) to manually retract the awning, easy peasy). I noticed my full length awning also has the same access cap on the forward end of the awning housing. BTW, my awning is a Marquee series by Carefree of Colorado. Carefree, that may be a misnomer.

Thanks guys for taking the time to respond to my plea for assistance. BTW, we may have exceeded our limit for Daves on this forum

Have a eat Day
