Door Opener

My 2016 Miramar has a door opener, like the baggage doors, that opens very quickly unless you hold onto the door. I have no problems but the grandkids invariably open the door and let it go. When it hits the end it stops with such force, the torque applied to the hinge of the door has loosened the screws. I installed larger thread screws thinking that would solve the problem but it did not. First time someone exited the RV and let the door swing (with help of the wind), it loosened the hinge again so I removed the opener.

Anyone else run into this issue. I have ordered a door hold back, plunger/rubber receptacle type. But before I drill holes into the RV I thought I would run it by the experts on the Forum. I have also considered just mounting a rubber door stop on the side of the RV. Anyway, thoughts are welcome.
