My preference is to backtrack when problems come up after making a change (particularly if easy to put to the test), even if it should be unrelated. Otherwise I'd always wonder if something weird I didn't anticipate was going on -- like maybe Jeep brakes are partially on, or added towing load is making transmission run warmer, etc.

I wouldn't drive much at all if it does feel like there is any slipping though.
