We keep our ACE in our side yard, have a 30A receptacle for it. We keep it powered up, fridge and A/C (the one that came with it, not the extra one we added) on. During the summer we set the A/C to 75; winter to 78. We keep our unit provisioned and ready to go all the time, without the A/C the staples in the pantry don't last as long. By running the A/C we keep the humidity down and mold out. No musty unused smell either. Really does not add much to our electric bill. We have an extended service plan, so if using the A/C makes it die sooner, it is covered under the extended service plan.

Another point--it is not under cover (envious of those of you who can do that), so it is sitting in direct sun. Without A/C it gets VERY hot inside and then takes FOREVER to cool down so we can comfortably drive to our camping destination.
