What they seem to have forgotten is no road in Michigan lasts 15 years... By the time they finish - the initial sections done will be far worse than they were at the start.
And that entire project covers a whopping 18 miles...
What are smooth roads after 80 miles of driving???
Ohio after leaving Oakland County....
(hey - I lived there for 20 years... lol)

The thing is: They are
always working on I-75 from I-275 to Ohio. I can't remember a summer driving that way without construction....
The new project to the North will only mean that section will also always be under construction.
(To be fair: The recently completed section of I-75 near Birch Run/Frankenmuth is still pretty smooth
as is the newly rebuilt section of I-96 east of I-275.)
