With the Ford V-10 in a class c and now the Axis my best mileage has been in the Axis 25.2 while towing our CR=V. When brand new we got between 8 and 9 mpg. With 7000 miles it now delivers 9-9.5mpg. We always tow. Our old class c, 26 feet, Ford V-10 never got better than 8 and sometimes as little as 6.
One thing has changed. I used to worry about the cost of gas, how maybe I could improve mileage by driving differently. Now I don't concern myself with it, just go. I have found one way to ease my mind and that is to realize that my pension fund and IRA contain oil company stocks. So, win win.
Big difference between F-53 based motorhomes (Hurricane, ACE, et al) and our E-Series based ones (Axis, Vegas, Class C's). The F-53's are a lot heavier and hence lower mileage.

On our Axis we're in the 8-9 range pretty much all the time, towing or not.
