I added a resonator from Onan....basically a straight through glass pack muffler.
It tuned the sound but didn't really quiet it.
After I had bought the resonator, I came across a tractor muffler at Tractor Supply, about the same size but not a flow through. I think it would probably be better, and I don't think it would cause too much back pressure.
I also have a genturi. It might help with the sound level a bit, but it's not a huge affect....but it does offer other obvious advantages and I think it's well worth it...
