A little off the original post, but we end up going to/from Central Illinois to SW Florida at least once a year by car and once a year by MH. Years ago I gave up on going through Atlanta and have used I-65, US 231 (AL), I-10, then down I-75. The only real traffic, along with rough roads, is Nashville, which has gotten worse and worse each year.

We just finished a car drive north tonight. Came up through Alabama as usual and got on I-65, then before Nashville got off on US-64 and cut over to US-45 and went north to Paducah. It was a really nice scenic drive on 90% 4-lane divided with new pavement. It added an hour but this will be our future route in the MH.

Now that is pre-planning an RV route!
