133 volts on 50a

My autoformer is alarming and telling me that there are 133 volts on leg one of my 50a circuit. When it was first installed, it read 120-122v. But now it jumped. I asked an electrician I know and he told me not to worry.

Should I worry?

Any error codes besides the high voltage

Sounds like a possible issue with the neutral wire. If it was ok before, maybe a connection that has become loose?

I would worry about it myself until I understood the reason for the change in voltage.

I don't like electrical mysteries. They always seem to lead to smoke leaking out of a wire at the wrong time. I vote for a meter error.

So what's changed?
Are you plugged into a different campground and this came up?
Are you plugged into the same place you have been for weeks?
What's the other leg read?
What have the legs read previously at this location?
What's the incoming voltage on both legs?

I've read about issues on autoformers before that bumped up the voltage by a couple of volts even when it wasn't needed. I think they have a fix for that; might want to give Hughes a call.

I read somewhere that it’s virtually impossible to damage anything from too high voltage. I’ve seen 129 and thought “wow” but decided to go back to bed and not worry about it!
