Help Using Antenna on 2016 Challenger

Hi All!

Ok, so before I bought my Challenger I had a 2015 Sunnseeker Class C and it also had a King Antenna. But on my Class C there were four signal strength lights. You turned the knob and tried to get a many of the lights to go on as possible and this meant you had the best possible signal.

On my Challenger, same antenna company, antenna looks the same and knob looks the same. But no lights!

So how am I supposed to know I have the best signal? Should I just trash the antenna and get an upgrade?

Bill

There are 2 grades of the king "jack" antennae the lower grade does not have the LED's, just swap it out for the top grade one, iei: litterally just have to unbolt and bolt, and reconnect the wires. No calking or re mounting involved as the tube thru the roof is the same.

The cheap mans alternative would be to download a free DTV antenna pointer app on your phone and use that to point it in the best direction since it is something that just needs to happen once when you pull into camp.

King also makes a separate signal strength meter that you can add. It just connects to the cable. I have it and it works just like the one built into the antenna does (my former RV had the LED meter built in).

Here's a link:

Go the "menu" on your tv, it should have a signal meter, mine does & use it regularly.

Awesome advice guys. Thanks so much. I think I'll swap out the King as it can't be much.
