Incorrect Shore Power Cord

I just noticed something on my new to me 2015 Vegas 24.1. The 30am power connection on the side of the MH has a threaded shoulder on it designed to receive a power cord with a threaded collar for a more secure connection. My power cord does not have a threaded collar. Did someone swap it out inadvertently?

Maybe, give your dealer a call--unless you're noticing this far after purchase. Of course the prior owner could have changed them out--we had to replace our cord after a while.

In that case simply buy a new cord (Amazon).

Jamie, I take it based on your response that your shoreline cord has a threaded collar on it?

A picture would help. Have not seen a Factory 30 amp cord that did not have a threaded locking ring. Are you sure someone has not replaced it with a smart Plug? It has no locking ring.

I’ll get back over to the MH and look at this again. I can’t find a 30amp mh cord on line that doesn’t have a threaded locking ring. Previous MH was hardwired into the transfer switch so this is unfamiliar to me.. It is not a smart plug, and perhaps neither am I..🤪

Is it possible they gave you a 30amp extension cord rather than the standard twist lock power cord?

Or, they might have replaced the female end of the cord.

This'll be my dumb question of the day.
Have you actually tried to plug that powercord into your TV yet?

It shouldn't...
Unless something has been changed.

Here’s my shoreline cord. Even though I bought the MH “as is”, I think I’ll send off this picture to the dealer and give them the opportunity to respond.

Looks like the correct cord with the black threaded ring missing. Prior owner may have cross threaded it and then cut it off or broke it in some other way.

That's the correct cord and all. As stated above=someone cut the ring off. No big deal. Most of the time I don't use it any on my much heavier 50a cord. As is is as is.

I too would not worry too much about it. Twist lock ends have been used in the construction industry for many years and very few (some specialty ones = $$$) of them have the locking rings, even on construction generators, it seems to be a RV item. Maybe it is there for those who neglect to unhook the shore cable before they drive away...
EDIT: Not sure how you get it on, but... Replacement ring

Thanks folks. Appreciate the help as usual.. I will get the replacement ring for grins. I believe it can be worked up and past the lip on the plug end.

Not sure you can find just the ring for the cable but good luck.

See post # 14. I was surprised that such a critter was available.

You can purchase replacement rings from Amazon. Not sure this is the exact one.
