My Mistake
In my previous post, I said there was no Axxera AV615BH manual -- my mistake -- there is one but it's hard to find. Here's the link again.
http://www.thorforums.com/forums/att...9&d=1486381677
I'm in the process of replacing my Axxera dvd receiver which died shortly after delivery. I'll install the Pioneer AVH-X3800BHS instead, mainly because it has all the Axxera features and important to me, HD Radio as well!
Thanks to Mike for his comments on obtaining Thor documents from the manufacturer -- I certainly want more structural info and wiring diagrams than what the 23H main manual offers.

Axxera TV's
I see Thor is repalcing Seiki TV's in some of their 2018 Coaches with Axxera TV's. I've seen them in the 2018 Class C Quantum. Has anyone experienced the Good, Bad, & Ugly with this Axxera 30 AXT32DLED TV? I can't find anything on Axxera's web site on this particular model.

I see that nothing has changed! Bought my 29h a year ago and went through the same thing. Downloaded the manual from the last link. Now have it in Ibooks. Called thor support about missing remote and was told that I could purchase one from them! Contacted the manufacture which said all radios are shipped with remotes and manuals. Convinced them to send me a remote (which I love in the coach).
Big question is why does THOR keep manuals and remotes?
On the XM antenna- I too tried inside, outside on front fender but ended up silicone adhesive on roof in front of roof vent. opened roof vent, removed gasket, slit plastic lip, inserted wire and replaced gasket. then routed wire with the fan wiring. Works great.

What Model Quantum do you have? I ordered PD31 in June and still waiting for delivery. Did you purchase off the lot or ordered? If ordered how long did it take to be delivered? Thanks carlgorski:87398

Bothered by no manual? Which is worse, no manual or an over-generalized Thor manual using the "One size fits all" approach as mine does, lumping it and several other coaches into one booklet. Wiring Diagrams? They "dodge that bullet" (and work/cost required for a quality manual) and instead deliver you cotton candy fluff, instead on useful technical info for YOUR purchase.
Axxera does NOT have a manual yet for that dvd receiver model. But, you can get their "quick start guide" in pdf format at this link. That's better than nothing.

Pioneer does have camera input, but, if you have three cameras you will have to use the switchbox that is in your coach. Most of the Pioneer radios only have one input, the Thor cameras use a 5 pin connection, the Pioneer usually has an RCA connection. If you use the swithbox from Thor it is set up to trigger the side cameras with turn signals and has an RCA output.
This is what the switchbox looks like if you have one:

No, as I said before they usually just have one input which is why you need to use the factory camera switch box.

I rarely use my radio, I mounted a 9" quad view monitor on the dash so I can see all three cameras at the same time.

SuperD - I'm in the same radio/camera display situation you described so well, lousy manual, poor resolution, and flawed positioning. In daytime, I can't make out anything in a turn signal display. Totally useless and, unfortunately, one of the important selling points I was looking for in my purchase. So, I want to do what you have done, that is, add a monitor and move the camera output(s) over to it.
I have a 2017 Thor Four Winds Super C (2016 F550 chassis) that has an Axxera AV615BH radio. I've pulled the radio and see that there is one camera input to the radio. That means I must have a camera video switch box like you described in your Sep 17 posts. When I pulled the radio, I did not see a switch box like the one in your picture in the dash cavity. Would you think Thor would use the same switch box in my MH model? (Same year as yours.)
I presume you removed your switch box because your new display could take the 3 inputs. Where was your switch box mounted? My cab is quite separate from the house so I wonder if my switch box is in the dash or in the house.
Could you give more information on the 9" monitor you added such as what model and where/how you mounted it? Do you have picture of the installation? Thank you.

Richard, happy to help! This is the place I purchased the monitor from: https://www.rearviewsafety.com/safet...-monitors.html
Model # RVS-6139Q 9” quad view stand alone monitor $224.99, they also have a 7” but it is the same price so I used the 9”. The monitor has 4 camera inputs and doesn’t require the video switch box, all three cameras plug into the supplied harness. Not wanting to drill hole in the dash I purchased a Ram suction mount and adhesive disc to stick on the dash. Test fit for placement, clean the area with alcohol, and allow the disc to sit for 24 hours before attaching the suction mount.
Follow the video input wire from the back of your radio and it will lead you to the switch box, the wire isn’t very long so the box can’t be to far away.
These are pictures of the box you are looking for, wire colors on the factory harness, and my monitor mounted on the dash. If you have more questions I will be glad to assist as best I can.

Super D - I finally found my switch box. It was in the dash under the steering wheel, not mounted, just stuffed in the center of a rats nest of wires. It's the same as model yours, RVS-501N-3, sold by RearViewSafety.com as is your monitor.
I was curious what the MIR/NOR switches do. I see in the RVS-501N-3 manual that they are Mirror view and Normal view. However, when I switch them, the view does not flip. I wonder why one would want to mirror the view anyway.
The switch box has 2 outputs, VIDEO OUT and MONITOR. MONITOR has a yellow RCA and a white RCA. The yellow RCA is what's connect to the radio. I imagine the white RCA is for sound. Do our cameras have sound?
I see in the picture of your monitor on the dash that it's showing all 3 camera views at once. That raises the question of when the cameras are on. In my web search I saw some back-up systems that specified that their camera was "always on" which suggests that always on is not always the case. I came across concerns about the cameras might over heat. Are your cameras always on or is the monitor using the yellow, brown, and blue trigger wires in its wiring harness to selectively turn them on based on which cameras are being viewed?
The RearViewSafety.com web site shows the 7" (RVS-6137Q) and 9" (RVS-6139Q) quad monitors (both 800x480) that you considered but they are now different prices, $224.99 and $249.99. There's also now a 10" (RVS-61310Q) quad monitor that is 1024x600 and has a video out for, oddly, $224.99. I think I'll go with that one.
I'm still working out how to mount the monitor. I think I'll hang it in front of the radio.
Thanks again for your help.

The switches on my box didn’t do any thing either!
The camera does not have sound.
Leaving the cameras on all the time hasn’t caused me any problems and I have driven 10-12 hours at a time. I didn’t use the trigger wires when I wired my monitor, I mainly use just the rear camera and it’s easy to switch views on the monitor if you feel the need.
As for mounting I used a Ram suction mount with a short double ended arm and an adhesive disc. If you use the adhesive disc make sure you clean the area well and allow the disc to sit 24 hours before using.
I think you’ll be very happy with your choice!!!

Did I read correctly in one of your previous posts that the connectors on the RearviewSafety. Com monitor will fit directly into the Thor system whereas others have to be spliced? Thanks
