Black tank flush

Just bought a freedom elite 24fe. It says it has a black tank flush. Can anyone tell me where it is?

Welcome to the Forum!
Down by your Dump valves and sewer hose connection: do you see a spot where you can screw in a hose?
It might be marked "San-T-Flush"

Bingo!

That’s exactly where the dealer said it would be. Nothing there. Owners manual says it’s a standard option. Not very happy.

We had a 31L with a flush. The server connection was in one of the "storage bins" towards the back of the coach and the flush was in the same "storage bin" but was clear over to the right. It was not visible. I had to reach back along the wall of the bin to find it. I added an extension hose because it was quite difficult to attache a hose each time. I don't know that your flush connection is in the same spot but make sure you take a close look.

I have the 26HE and it doesn't have the flush. We looked at a bunch of Freedom Elites and the standard stuff seems to basically all be the same.

I made a rookie mistake after my first two trips. Left the black tank valve open and wasn't using enough water. Wanted to be prepared for the next trip and bought the Camco Sewer Rinse. Hopefully, I'll never have to actually use it.

Hey Partner, I just bought a freedom elite 24fe and I can't find the flush either.

Hopefully someone knows where the heck it is.

Appears maybe the 2018 doesn’t have it. I’m going to talk to the dealer about installing a tornado since they told me it had the flush.

Black tank 2

Ok. One more black tank question. The place to empty both black and grey tanks is on the driver side rear (both valves). There is another valve on the passenger side underneath the rv by the tank. What is that third valve for?

I've got one of those on my Outlaw also.

Here's my theory:
They want you to pull the dump valve next to the connection first, and wonder why nothing is coming out... Then; you remember that the second valve is on the other side of the rig. You hike over there, and pull the valve...

...only to hear everybody yelling that you just blew the hose out of the dump connection, and "last week's food" is now flooding your work-space!

From what I was told it's there for convience. Leave the one on the passenger side closed until ready to dump. You can open both on the driver side driver once you've installed the hoses. When you need to dump the black, you don't have to walk all the way around. Plus it moves very quickly when opening the passenger side.

It's also double valve protection.

The day before our last day of camping I close the grey water, and let the tank fill up as much as possible to help clean out the pipes on the last flush.

Definitely make sure your hoses are well supported!!! The flow is strong. I've thought mine were good enough only to find it sagging to the ground right after the connection. I should have stretched the first hose section all the way out so it doesn't have so much flexibility right at the connection to the RV.

I think the passenger side valve is there to keep “solids” from settling in the line and possibly clogging it up. Keeping stuff in the tank where there is plenty of water and sloshing motion instead of backing up against the dump valve with the weight of manny gallons of water compressing it against the valve makes sense to me!

I just noticed that also. It is obviously for black water, but almost impossible to get to which is probably why it was open.

As for saging hose, I purchased a blue line hose support and protector, works great.

My 12 year old Class C also has a black tank valve on the passenger side. I close it first when I am finished dumping then close the valve at the drain connection. That leaves the pipe under the RV empty just in case something damages the pipe while driving. When I dump I open the valve at the drain then the dump nearest the tank. That gives the effluent a straight shot out. I have been doing this for years with no problem.

Did you ever notice that when athletes are "talkin' crap" to one another: it seems childish.
But when WE talk crap: it's actually a useful conversation!

Just a guess - the passenger side black tank valve is probably required by law???

I was told its there to prevent dumping your tank if you accidently tore your dump valve off.

Looks to me like that the black tank pipe is going low across the back end of the camper, and if you hit an obstruction on your path that breaks that drain pipe, the right-side valve would keep you from spilling your stuff.
