USB Wall Outlets

I would like to change out some of the regular duplex outlets with combination USB/duplex outlets. The outlets in my Challenger are "self-contained" (no electrical box in the wall) and I have been unable to find any USB/duplex outlets that are "self-contained". Does anyone know of any? Thanks.

Here's one on eBay that should work for you:

AC Power Adapter Socket Dock Station with 2 Port USB Wall Charger Outlet Plate | eBay

I bought one of these from Lowes and just move to where it is needed.

Shop RCA USB A (Input) USB Charger at Lowes.com

Most of the time it is plugged into the outlet at the passenger's seat.

Is it "self-contained" or does it require a wall box?

Too late, Bruce. I've already ordered the ones from eBay! It does look much easier, though.

I don't think the one Bruce found will work (at least on the outlets on our Axis) because they are snap-in outlets with a rectangular face. It appears that the snap power units have two "fingers" (technical term) that reach back and contact the screws where power connects. On the outlets on our camper those are hidden behind the rectangular cover.

Based on a different discussion here I picked up a couple of these guys:
Dual USB Charger Socket
These have the advantage of being 12V powered--you don't need to run the genny to keep them powered.

I haven't installed them yet as they just arrived yesterday.

Pretty good idea -- if you know how to run wiring to it. I'll stick with just replacing an outlet!!
