Basement mounted air conditioner

So I am a fan of "RV with Tito" on YouTube and he recently purchased a 2003 Winnebago Adventurer. What's super interesting about this coach is that it has a basement mounted ac/heat pump unit. I had never seen something like this and think it is fantastic. My wife hates the drip of our roof mounted units. Anyway, does anyone know why they stopped using these? I assume it's ease of installation, plus it frees up basement storage. Makes me wonder what other cool things they stopped doing.

A household minisplit will work well.
The basement units will cause some whining by those who want more storage.
Given a choice of basement or roof, almost everyone will take roof to not use 4cubic feet of precious storage.

Yeah, I figured it was due to storage. People have to take all of their stuff with them everywhere they go. But I would love to not have the ac noise. Not to mention the water marks on the sides of the coach.

IF we decide on a second a.c., it'll be a basement mount minisplit. And we MIGHT tie it into the heater registers(since it's on the floor.).

If you're headed to Mexico a brand name, high btu, high seer Minisplit is under $500 at Wal-Mart.
(I won't be going to Mexico for mine.)
