Charging batteries

How are the coach batteries charged. Is there a charger somewhere or what

You do not mention what type of coach, however most are charged

1. Through the converter/charger or inverter/charger when you are connected to shore power
2. When the generator is running
3. When the engine is running and after the alternator has been given a few seconds to come up to speed

4. Some motorhomes also include solar in addition to above.

You could hear a slight hum from the converter charger. That will hopefully mean it's charging your batteries. If they are a wet cell keep an eye on the levels.
